Aaron Tippin war wesentlicher Bestandteil des Booms der neuen traditionalistischen Country-Bewegung der frühen 90ern, der sich mit seinen sentimentalen Balladen und patriotischen Hymnen des einfachen Arbeiters einen Namen mit seiner Mischung aus Macho, Rowdy und Honky-Tonker machte.
Tippins Debüt-Album "You've Got To Stand For Something" wurde 1991 veröffentlicht; nach dem Krieg im Persischen Golf schaffte die Titelsong-Auskopplung auf Anhieb den Sprung in die Top Ten und Tippin wurde zu Bob Hopes USO-Tour eingeladen. Sein zweites Album "Read Between The Lines" war 1992 ein Top-Ten Erfolg mit Millionen verkaufter Alben und den drei Top Ten Singles "I Wouldn't Have It Any Other Way", "My Blue Angel" und seinen ersten Nummer-Eins-Hit "There Ain't Nothing Wrong With The Radio". Das 1993er Album "The Call Of the Wild" zeigte erneut Tippins Vorliebe für aufwieglerische Hymnen wie "Honky Tonk Superman", den Top-Ten-Hit "Working Man's Ph.D." und die Titelsong-Auskopplung, die es bis in die Top 20 schaffte. Das Album "Lookin' Back At Myself", das im darauffolgenden Jahr veröffentlicht worden ist, war weniger erfolgreich, aber mit "That's As Close As I'll Get To Loving You" aus dem Album "Tool Box" gelang ihm 1995 die Rückkehr an die Spitze der Single-Charts. Im selben Jahr heiratete Tippin auch wieder.
Als es Tippin nicht gelang, mit den nachfolgenden Singles die Beliebtheit der Vorgänger zu toppen, begann seine Beziehung mit RCA Nashville zu kriseln. Schließlich trennten sich ihre Wege, und erst im Jahr 1998 gelang es Tippin, wieder unter Vertrag genommen zu werden, dieses Mal von dem Disney-Tochterunternehmen Lyric Street Records. Er co-produzierte sein erstes Album unter neuem Label "What This Country Needs", das Ende des Jahres veröffentlicht wurde und ihn mit der Single "For You I Will" zurück in die Top Ten brachte. Es folgte das Album "Two People Like Us" im Jahr 2000, das erste Album Tippins, das es in die Top Five der Charts schaffte dank des Nummer-Eins-Smash-Hits "Kiss This", einem Lied, das Tippins Ehefrau Thea mitgeschrieben hat. Das Weihnachtsalbum "A December To Remember" erschien daraufhin im Jahr 2001 und Tippin gelang mit "Stars & Stripes" im Jahr 2002 ein angemessener Nachfolger. Die Hymne zum 11. September "Where The Stars And Stripes And The Eagle Fly", wurde zu einem Crossover-Smash und war nicht nur die Nummer zwei der Country-Charts, sondern stieg auch in die Top 20 der Popmusik auf.
