Die sechs harten Tourjahre sollten sich auszahlen: Das Industrieflaggschiff DreamWorks zeigte sich von einem Showcase-Konzert der Band in Nashville so beeindruckt, dass sie sie 2001 unter Vertrag nahmen. Das selbstbetitelte, von Richard Marx produzierte Debüt der Band erschien 2002. Es enthielt glatten Country-Pop und erinnerte an neue Country-Traditionalisten wie Mark Wills genauso wie an Boygroups vom Schlage BBMak. 2004 gingen Emerson Drive mit Shania Twain gemeinsam auf US-Tour.
Das selbstbetitelte Major-Label-Debüt-Album stieg auf Platz 13 der Billboard Country Album Charts ein. Die ersten beiden Singles, "I Should Be Sleeping" und "Fall Into Me", landeten in den Top 10 der Billboard Hot Country Songs Charts. Die Single "Only God (Could Stop Me Loving You)" landete auf Platz 23. Keine der drei Singles schafft es sich Kanada platzieren.
Das 2004er Album "What If" stieg auf Platz 12 der Billboard Country Album Charts ein. Es wurden fünf Singles ausgekoppelt, "Waitin' on Me", "Last One Standing" (Platz 21), "November" (Platz 41), "If You Were My Girl", "Still Got Yesterday", von denen sich nur zwei in den Billboard Hot Country Songs Charts platzieren konnten. Mit "Waitin' On Me" schaffte die Country-band zum ersten Mal den Sprung in die kanadischen Charts. Der Song landete auf Platz 38.
Nach der Scließung von DreamWorks Nashville unterschrieb die Gruppe 2005 einen Vertrag bei Midas Records und das erste Album auf dem neuen Label namens "Countrified" erschien 2006. Es konnte aber an den Erfolg der Vorgänger Alben nicht anschließen und landete nur auf Platz 30 der Billboard Country Album Charts. Insgesamt wurden sechs Singles ausgekoppelt: "A Good Man", "Countrified Soul", "Moments", "You Still Own Me", "Testify" und "Everyday Woman". Mit "Moments" gelang Emerson Drive der bisher größte Charts-Erfolg in den Billboard Hot Country Songs Charts. Die Single stieg bis an die Spitze der Charts.
Am 25. September 2007 verstarb überraschend der ehemalige Bassist vom Emerson Drive, Patrick Bourque, in seinem Haus in Montreal. Der 29-jährige Musiker ersetzte 2003 das Gründungsmitglied Jeff Loberg. Bourque verlies Emerson Drive im August 2007 und lebte seither in Montreal.
2009 strauchelte Midas Records bereits und so veröffentlichte man "Believe" in der Konstellation Midas/Valory Music Group/Open Road Recordings. Das Album tauchte aber in den Charts nicht auf. Die erste Single, "Belongs to You", stieg bis auf Platz 32 der Billboard Hot Country Songs Charts und bis auf Platz 73 der kanadischen Single Charts. Die weiteren Singles, "Believe", "I Love This Road" und "The Extra Mile" konnten sich in den USA nicht mehr platzieren.
Nach einer kurzen Pause wurde 2012 das Album "Roll" veröffentlicht.
